Artist’s Bio
Shaun Caton is one of the UK’s most prolific and original performance artists. He has created some 400 performances worldwide, working in galleries, museums, art centres and festivals of live art. His performances use colour, shadow play, masks, puppetry, live action, and totemic paintings and drawings to create spellbinding images, that tell stories without words.
His performances are enigmatic, darkly luscious, depictions that form strange, fragmentary histories. The characters, personalities, and curious forms appear time and time again, like players in a mini saga that transports the spectator back and forth in time.
‘Inventive, powerful, and endlessly playful’
Albert Irvin RA OBE
‘One of the UK’s most captivating performers’
Manick Govinda, Artsadmin, London
